Sydney Rockclimbing Club (Rockies) meetings are a great opportunity to socialise, talk about climbing and related issues and meet new potential climbing partners.
Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of every month, except for January. Meetings cost nothing to attend and are open to members and non-members. Meetings start at 7.30pm and run to about 9.30pm. Existing members normally meet around 6.30pm for food before the meeting.
Meetings start with some standard items (e.g. introducing new members, upcoming trips, access update), include a short refreshment break and then have a discussion or activity on a climbing related topic.
You must show some form of ID (e.g. driving licence or passport) to enter the Club. ‘Smart casual’ dress restrictions apply (e.g. no thongs or singlets).
People who live within 5km of the Wests Ashfield Leagues Club must become members, and other people can join if they like. The membership fee is currently $5 per year, and gets you discounts on food and drinks.
